Principals
William Sorokolit Sr, a visionary, businessman and life-long entrepreneur, founded Consulate Development Group on principles of integrity, hard work and dedication.
William (Bill) began his real estate career as a salesperson in the industrial/commercial division of A. E. Lepage in Toronto in 1967. After obtaining his broker’s licence in 1969, Bill became a stakeholder in several real estate development projects throughout the GTA.
In 1978, Bill re-branded the company as Consulate Development Group. Today, his two sons, John Sorokolit and Bill Sorokolit, along with daughter Susan O’Brien, have continued to maintain Consulate’s reputation as an industry pioneer in the development and management of more than a dozen major projects. They also hold their real estate licenses and are registered salespersons under the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act (Ontario) with Sorokolit Realty Corporation – the family’s brokerage arm.
Executive Team
Central Parkway Mall
Consulate Development Group’s head office is located in Central Parkway Mall at 377 Burnhamthorpe Road East in Mississauga – approximately 1.5 km east of the city centre. The firm moved from downtown Toronto in 1979 to its own commercial property after deciding to focus on development opportunities in the dynamic and rapidly growing city of Mississauga (current population: 725,000). The Sorokolit family continues to own and manage the Central Parkway Mall, which is a 149,000 square foot community shopping centre. Central Parkway Mall has developed into a niche retail centre, providing a strong identity in terms of layout and tenant mix. Its anchor tenants include Food Basics, McDonald’s Restaurant, Rexall Drugstore, Cine-Starz Theatres, and the country’s largest Service Canada office. The mall also has a 30,000 square foot medical/professional centre on the second floor, providing an array of services to a densely populated city core.
